Greetings Citizens,
Here at the mayor’s office we’ve been tweaking the site to make it as user friendly as possible. Please help by letting us know of any bugs you discover, or anything that you think could work better. We’re also adding a bunch of new premium items, so show your support for the city by logging in, aerning pixels, and buying the stuff that will set you apart.
Also, with all the press coverage on the issue, I want to point out that no citypixel.com staff members have injected steroids or any other performancing drugs. PixelYork Stadium is clean too. All the bat boys are in good standing and have reported no wrong doing by the players.
Further, while I am Legend and Cloverfield have showed the negative aspects of big city living, PixelYork is vampire and monster free. Heck, if you look around Spiderman, the Punisher, Santa Claus and a radioactive looking guy have been hanging around so I think we’re in good shape if any vicious or undead creatures decide to visit.
And last but not least, we’re working on a few new cities and places of interest for 2008. Keep an eye out for some European and South Pacific action in the coming months!
Keep it tuned here, and, as always, tell your friends to tune in too! (If you let us know that you had some people sign up you might notice a little pixel bonus in your account….)

Greetings Citizens:
As your mayor, I just wanted to point out a nice article on Fred Cavazza’s blog. Fred points out different statistics for virtual worlds, as well as mapping them all out by category. You can see the full article here:
http://www.fredcavazza.net/2007/10/04/virtual-universes-landscape/
2008 will likey spawn more competition, but citypixel will rise to the ocassion. Look for new baseball park throughout the city, a huge shopping mall, garages for multiple cars, and much more.
We’re also looking to partner with other social networking services to expand what we offer. Maybe even partner with someone who rhymes with spacecook.
Finally, I’d like to thank you all for checking out the site, and submitting the comments that have helped us grow. This year we’ll be rewarding those people who are doing their best to spread the good word.
Happy Holidays to all!
-The Mayor
As some of you may have experienced recently there were some outages on our servers due to year-end maintenance causing instabilities within PixelYork. We apologize for the interruption at CityPixel and have put in measures to prevent similar outages in the future. Thanks again for everyone’s support!
Happy Holidays!

Welcome back commish. (Yeah that’s me talking about myself!) I probably should have warned you all of my little hiatus before I departed, but unfortunately I did not. Anyway, I am back from traveling Europe the last few weeks and I missed quite a few things, a la Thanksgiving (with the scrumptious turkey), Black Friday (with all the bargains), and ARod back on the Yankees.
It’s good to be back at CityPixel after a long trip, but I definitely enjoyed my time. If you enjoy going on excursions like me (and are strapped for cash), no worries, because we have plans at CityPixel to create other pixel cities (Tokyo, London, etc.) that you can reach through PixelYork. Look for an airport/transportation center within the virtual city in the future!
Well that’s enough from me, I will have another post with a teaser/trivia question to earn some pixels later this week, but I first must get back to unpacking! In the meantime let me know what I missed the last few weeks.

Greetings Citizens!
We all need some down time, and The Mayor, AKA me, just ran out to catch the movie Hitman.
As you can imagine, the theatre was reserved and I was the only person present for the cinematic experience. It’s really the only way to see a movie.
Anyways… I know you can’t all be the mayor of a fine city, like PixelYork, but if you get the chance - rent a whole theatre for yourself.
The movie was pretty good. Agent 47 is a good character, and it would be nice to see someone make an avatar with the black suit and red tie. Would be pretty easy if someone wanted to impress me. No real contest, but if you do it I can thank you publicly.
Oh, no synopsis or anything. If you want to know what it was about go rent a theatre.
Till next time!

Greetings Constituents,
As we near the mid-point of the 4th quarter, and begin to enter the Christmas season, I was wondering what the city was missing, and what you all would like under the tree - so to speak anyway.
You’ve seen the cars, the pet store, and all the other new stuff that we’ve added recently. But that was all on the roadmap. What can we give you loyal users to make your experience better, more interesting or enjoyable?
You’re receiving more pixels when you log in and use different features of the city, and that means buying more stuff. Anything you wish you could buy, but can’t find?
Well it’s time for me to go take a nap on my tiger skin rug, and bask in the shade of my elephant. If you think I’m talking crazy then you haven’t seen all that our stores have to offer.
I look forward to hearing your recommendations…

“E”, “I”, “E”, “I”, “O”! And on his farm he had a chicken…
That’s right. Just replace Old McDonald with yourself and that can be you owing a slew of animals! And guess what? At CityPixel, if you buy an animal with your pixels, we guarantee you a hassle and mess free pet owning experience! Check out the newest store in PixelYork at 4500 Broadway Avenue (also can be found under the more citypixel -> citypixel Stores section on the header bar) where you can grab yourself your own virtual pet.
Go ahead and shop for your new pet and bring him/her to your virtual apartment on the web! Once he/she is showcased in your room don’t forget to share your address so I can check it out.

That’s right, as mentioned in the past, you can now customize your very own avatar in CityPixel! And the greatest part is you can do it all for free; it doesn’t cost any pixels. Yeah!
Here is a little guide on how to get started:
1) Log-in and select the ‘me’ icon from the navigation bar.
2) Next click on the customize avatar icon marked with a new label.
3) From there, select a template and then let your imagination run wild, by designing and coloring your very own virtual character.
![]()
4) Click on the save button and then place your avatar anywhere in the city.
If you have any questions about the customize avatar module or anything in PixelYork, don’t hesitate to drop a line.
Lastly, with Halloween just around the corner, try to design the best costume for your avatar and share it on this blog. Winner of the most unique avatar will win some extra pixels to purchase various items you can place in your apartment/cube or car.
Enjoy the new feature and as always if you have any suggestions don’t hesitate to leave a message.

This post is just a shout out to the New York Yankees. Lots of citizens of PixelYork are feeling down today as their beloved Yankees were once again eliminated from the playoffs. It was a long and tough season that once again ended in disappointment. Here is hoping that Joe Torre is around next year. If not, it was a great run and I think I speak for all fans when I say that he did an incredible job managing the Yankees and had the respect of everyone from the players, fans, and opposing teams. Please share your favorite Yankees moments this year. Mine was the callup for Joba Chamberlain! That guy is going to be a great PRO!
Now onto some CityPixel news. The mayor just shared a bunch of new things on the horizon, but I also wanted to mention that similar to customizing properties, you will soon have the ability to create and design your own Avatar also. More details to follow in another post! Keep up the suggestions!
Thanks,
~The Commish
