So what better way to celebrate Super Sunday then to party in CityPixel, right? Have all of you stumbled upon 7100-7600 Lenox Avenue within PixelYork before? We aren’t holding the Super Bowl this evening there, but it is the home of PixelYork’s state-of-the-art stadium. Definitely check it out next time you are navigating within the city. We are still trying to finalize what features the stadium will include, so we are open to all suggestions on what we can offer there. Heck, if it’s a good idea we may just implement it, so this is your chance to be part of CityPixel history!
Now back to the big game tonight! This is definitely a historic game as the Brady-led Patriots attempt to complete only the second undefeated season in NFL history. But Eli and the Giants are on a roll, since they last met up with New England in Week 17, and will definitely put up a fight. Aside from waiting for the next “funniest” commercial, look for Plaxico and Bradshaw to put up some huge numbers in the game.
Now if only tomorrow was a national holiday! Can’t we move up President’s day by a couple of weeks, to this Monday, ha!
Go Giants!

Hey Citizens,
Mayor here. Just wanted to draw your attention to the new arcade. It’s on Northern Ave. I’m in there chillin’ as I type. Just played tennis courtesy of miniclip.com!
While you’re there, hit my profile and check out my new little red sports car! I think you’ll like it. We’re working out a few things to make designing the car a little more user friendly, but they’re tested and working great. Stay tuned as we’re going to open the flood gates any day now.
Also, as an elected official, I need to reach out to you, my constituents, and see if you like the direction of the site. Please drop a line and let us know what you’d like to see, and if we’re developing the site in a positive direction.
Thanks for your continued support!

That’s right, as the great Jimmy Buffet titled his song, the same goes for the climate in CityPixel. As folks around the globe are preparing for the heavy hurricane season, just ask those in Jamaica about Hurricane Dean: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070819/D8R43I500.htm, citizens of PixelYork can rest assure that they will always have great weather. Sunny, blue skies, what more can you ask for?
With the financial markets already in flux the last few weeks, the US can’t afford another incident like Katrina. Lets hope for the best and wish that this will be a calm hurricane season this year. As for the volatility in the stock exchange recently, the housing market seems to be crashing in the US, but remember CityPixel continues to offer FREE properties in either an Apartment or an Office Cube, with 0% interest (duh, it’s free)! You can’t beat that, can you? Plus you are able to design to your liking with free furniture and if you really want to get fancy, pick up some premium furniture with your ‘Pixels’! Grab some space now before it runs out. And lookout for new types of “properties” you can own in the future!
Lastly earn some more pixels by answering this hurricane related trivia question. First three to email me correctly wins.
PixelTrivia of the Week
Please give me the history of naming hurricanes. When did this begin, how were names chosen, was it always done this way, etc.?
Good luck!

Greetings Citizens:
I’d like to reach out to everyone and let you know that five new additions have been made to the city. Coffee houses, furniture stores and night clubs. Good places to shop or hang! Check them out, and reply to this post if you can find all 5. There just might be a prize in it for you!
Speaking of the furniture stores, I hear we’re having a big sale! Well, actually, the price of furniture has been slashed by 25% just because we want everyone to reconsider the designs they are currently sporting, and try to liven it up a bit.
Keep close tabs on the coffee houses and night clubs. Very soon you’ll be able to stream music! Word on the street is that you’ll be able to listen to the same music in the privacy of your own apartment or cube too.
Special Notice: Next time you log in you may notice a green popup. This will only happen the next five times you log in. We just want to remind you of all the cool stuff you could be doing.
That’s all from City Hall for now…

Just wanted to acknowledge some of the major baseball milestones that were recently achieved or will be in the near future.
Citypixel’s PixelYork is currently a Yankees town (but can be a Mets town soon too), so big props to Alex Rodriguez, who was the youngest player to ever reach 500 HRs. Just incredible, and maybe one day we will talk about another record he may break from another guy I will acknowledge later in the post. Same congrats goes to Frank Thomas, who hit his 500th HR earlier in the season, and a good luck to Jim Thome who is only 10 away.
Now on to one of the most controversial HRs in the history of the game. Barry Bonds hit his 755th last night, tying him with Hammering Hank Aaron at #1 on the overall list. We all know this story is clouded with a steroids scandal, but seeing this issue existed throughout the era, it’s difficult and unfair to scapegoat one player and we should still remember this day as a great achievement.
And lastly, Tom Glavine is attempting to be one of few pitchers to reach the 300 wins milestone today as he pitches against the Cubs at Wrigley field today. He may be the last guy to reach that in a long time.
So what does this have to do with CityPixel? Well did you know that PixelYork has it’s very own state-of-the-art venue within the city? Yeah, that’s right if you Jump To 6100-6600 Lenox Avenue you can visit PY Stadium:

Now the fun part is to hear all of your suggestions to determine what you would like to see us do with the stadium? Do you want to view concerts or stream sporting events? Let us know and we will add it to our list of enhancements to review!
Now on to the weekly trivia question where you are eligible to increase your pixels total you can use to purchase premium goods. First three to email me the correct answer wins.
PixelTrivia of the Week (Baseball style):
Craig Biggio also reached a big milestone this year (3000 hits), but he is determined to break another all time record this season. Name the record he is attempting to break, the player he plans to take the record from, and the number he is looking to surpass?
Lets all wish Mr. Glavine good luck today as he attempts to win #300!

I had the pleasure of seeing The Simpsons movie this weekend and I must say the reviews really hold up here. The movie was quite entertaining and I recommend anyone who is a fan of the TV series from a casual watcher to a die-hard follower to catch the movie while it’s still in theaters.
My favorite scene is when Homer does his own spin on a classic American hero, Spiderman. Check out the video clip on YouTube here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=oDNkLM2aK-g
While we are on the topic of YouTube, did you know you can express yourself and flash some creativity by adding your favorite YouTube videos to your apartments in CityPixel? That’s right, when customizing your apartment, look for the flat screen TV with a YouTube icon. Once you add it to your digs in PixelYork, you have the ability to link a YouTube video to the TV that visitors can view as they hover over the plasma screen. Pretty cool, ehh?
So you have probably noticed by now that I like polling our users about how to enhance the CityPixel user experience. So in that spirit, what other types of interactive furniture do you want to add to your custom properties? How about a stereo to stream music or pictures to hang on your walls as people visited your place? Please share your thoughts and ideas in the comments section.
Ok, I will stop delaying the much anticipated trivia question of the week where you can earn pixels to purchase premium goods. You know the drill, first three people who email me the correct answer will get some pixels added to their account. Yeah!
PixelTrivia of the Week (Simpsons style):
What is Bart’s full name?
Good luck and watch out for spider pig, he may be coming to a pixel city in the near future!
-The Commish
Well it looks like Ken spilled the beans on the new stores coming soon to PixelYork where you can buy some very cool goods to add to your apartment. I can’t wait! How exciting!?! If you want to get your fix, continue to rack up pixels by spending more time in CityPixel or by answering my trivia questions! You can verify your pixels balance by clicking the “me” button on the header bar and looking at the Pixels section.
Anyway, enough about that, on to more important things. Less then 1 more hour until Harry Potter’s latest installment is released. Can’t wait? I hope that everyone who reads the new book will end up discussing it on their personal blog they can create in CityPixel! How cool is that? You can access this feature by clicking on the “me” button on the header bar and selecting the “create my blog” link.
Now on to the much anticipated trivia question of the week where you can earn even more pixels to purchase goods at the new stores. You know the drill, first three people who email me the correct answer will get some pixels added to their account. Yeah!
PixelTrivia of the Week (Harry Potter style):
How many points is the Golden Snitch worth in a game of Quidditch?
Good luck, and you may just run in to me waiting in line for the new book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at your local store!
-The Commish
Happy belated birthday to PixelYork’s mother country, USA! I hope everyone enjoyed the 4th of July, I certainly did. Unfortunately the weather didn’t hold up for a trip to the beach or having a BBQ, but I did partake in another summer tradition. Going to the movies. The warm-weather season always brings along some great movies and this year is no different with blockbusters like Harry Potter, Transformers, and Ocean’s Thirteen along with some great family friendly animated flicks like Shrek 3 and Ratatouille. One thing I noticed this past week at the theater was that some places are showing movies using DLP technology and charging you extra (up to $4 a ticket) to view them. Save yourself the few bucks and go to the legacy projection movies, because there really is no difference. All you get is a better quality projector, but remember you are still viewing the same “grainy” screen!
Speaking of movies, did you know you can add your own videos from everyone’s favorite video-sharing site, YouTube, into your own apartment in PixelYork? That’s right, you can customize your free apartments (as the mayor previously posted about) with some interactive furniture where you can drop an arcade system and play some games or hang a nice flat screen TV on your wall and share your favorite videos linked through YouTube.
A question for all you movie-lovers, how would you like CityPixel to better integrate movies into the website? How does a movie theater in PixelYork that you could enter to watch upcoming trailers sound? Just a thought of mine, but I would love to hear your ideas so please add a comment to this post with other suggestions!
I am expanding the weekly question, where you can earn additional ‘pixels’ for your account, to include trivia questions as well as brain teasers. So in the spirit of this post, I will pose a movie related trivia question. The first three people to email me the correct answer will receive some free ‘pixels’!
PixelTriva of the week (In the spirit of Hollywood):
Name one of the two 80’s movies whose casts feature two actors who went on to be elected US State governors?
Good luck to all. Stay cool and enjoy what films Hollywood still has to offer this summer, like The Simpsons.
