Maybe not as revolutionary as when Henry Ford introduced the Model T to the world, changing history at the time, but the Mayor of PixelYork recently made a similar and exciting announcement. As mentioned, you can now enjoy navigating through the city streets and be able to see the cars, buses, trucks, etc. moving! It may not sound so cool right now, but as the Mayor already hinted, I promise you there will be more developments within PixelYork relating to automobiles in the near future that everyone will love!

I also wanted to mention a few new things at CityPixel.com. First being that this cleverly written and humorous blog is now available as one of the tabs on our homepage. :)

And if that didn’t get your blood flowing, something a little more exciting is now that if you lease either an Apartment or Office Cube in PixelYork, your profile will show thumbnails of those customized properties on the front page. Pretty cool, right? Now you can share your creativity for all your buddies to see! Awesome.

And now to continue my very own tradition I started in my last entry…a little contest where you can earn additional ‘pixels’ for your account. The first three people to email me the correct answer to the weekly PixelTeaser below will receive some free ‘pixels’!

PixelTeaser of the week (In the spirit of moving cars!):
If I drive halfway to the town (which is 60 mi away) at the speed of 30 mi/hour, how fast do I have to go for the rest of the way to have the average speed of the entire way 60 mi/hour?

Good luck to all. Hope to run into you in the city sometime soon!

Ok, you have to admit that moving cars is pretty cool stuff, right? Art-wise, the cars were cool, but now they move! I guess now we’ll just have to make the avatars move…

As your Mayor, I was recently asked why we didn’t debut the city with moving people and cars. The answer is simple - walking around is fun, but cool apartments and office cubes is what we’re all about. You can’t really express yourself walking down an awesome pixel-city, but you can express yourself with a seriously awesome apartment! Maybe BigA will throw some free pixels at you if you tell us why yours is great! Or maybe we can toss you a free banner ad to link to your apartment so more people can find it.

Finally, at citypixel HQ, we’ve been talking about East Coast Choppers and cool car and bike concepts. What about custom garages and customizable cars as a feature in the city?

I can only do so much as the Mayor. I represent the citizens and will need some serious feedback to get the Public Works Dept. to look into this!

Not sure how the almighty mayor had time to blog and attend the subway series last night, but good for him, very impressive! Now we just need to find out who he was rooting for! Every city needs a dedicated mayor who listens to the people and from the looks of it, he wants suggestions! Remember a city is as good as its residents, and PixelYork is no different. You can make a difference!

I know the mayor let you in on a few new features currently available in cityPixel but let me let you in on a little secret. The more time you spend in PixelYork by logging in, making friends, and owning apartments/cubes, the more ‘pixels’ (cityPixel’s virtual currency) you can earn. Start collecting those ‘pixels’ now because in the near future you will be able to buy premium furniture for your apartment/cube and choose from special avatars. I am going to start a little contest where you can earn additional ‘pixels’ for your account. The first three people to email me the correct answer to the weekly PixelTeaser below will receive some free ‘pixels’!

PixelTeaser of the week:
A farmer in Florida owns a beautiful plum tree. He supplies the fruit to a nearby grocery store. The store owner has called the farmer to see how much fruit is available for him to purchase. The farmer knows that the main trunk has 36 branches. Each branch has exactly 18 boughs and each bough has exactly 12 twigs.

Since each twig bears one piece of fruit, how many pears will the farmer be able to deliver?

Good luck to all and I look forward to running into you in PixelYork, just don’t do anything mischievous, because I will be looking over your back!

Greetings Citizens of PixelYork!

We’re working hard developing and testing our latest features so you can begin to enjoy them. I don’t want to give a lot away, but we’ve been hearing that the city is too static… so we’re going to change that. Want to party in your apartment, but need some music? What about leaving voicemail for your neighbors?

We’ve got new buildings scattered about, we’re about to unleash a bunch of new cars, and if you check your apartment and cube, you’ll see some new furni. BUT - what are we missing? Participate in the design! Let us know what you want to see next and we’ll be sure to get it on the ‘to-do’ list!

We modified the homepage a little. It’s loading faster, and has a few new features. I mean, who wants to wait to get into PixelYork?

Speaking of PY, we need some ideas for new landmarks. We have a centrally located park, a big boy city hall, a stadium and a subway, but need a statue of pixelty. Any suggestions?

We’re building PixelYork for you! Keep telling us what you want to see and do, and we’ll make it happen. Unlike real life, we want you to be able to come here and just do what you want to do! So lay it on us, and we’ll lay it out in pixels.

Keep your eyes tuned in here for more updates!
